Howard Keith Haines II

HOWARD KEITH HAINES II DIED UNEXPECTEDLY AT THE VETERANS HOSPITAL JULY 22,2006. Keith was born on September 26, 1945 in Albany, California to Howard Keith and Evelyn Rufi Haines. He attended schools in Tooele, Utah and graduated from Tooele High in the class of 1963. 1963- 1964 attended Utah State University. 1964-1968 attended and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He served in the Navy for five years with four tours in Vietnam. After his discharge from the Navy he attended Brigham Young University where he studied eight different college degrees. He was active in coaching the football and the Rugby teams. He married Barbara Jean Phippen June 14,1975. They have four children. They later divorced in 1989. He married Linda Lehontan Jack November 21,1997 in Orem Utah. They later divorced. Keith was very active in politics, was an Election Consultant and was very involved in the affairs of our country and the constitution. He served on projects too numerous to list including, anti-MX missile, Salt Lake City Olympic bid committee, Veterans Affairs. Keith is survived by his children: Howard Keith (Patti) Haines III, Orem, UT; Sara (Derk) Gilbert, Richmond, UT;. Kenneth T. Haines, Logan, UT: Victory P. Haines, Lincoln, Nebraska. Surviving sisters: Michelle Waggoner (Warren Long), South Salt Lake City, UT; Collette (Jeffrey) Hatch, Logan, UT. Keith was preceded in death by his parents Howard Keith and Evelyn Haines and grandson Kage Derk Gilbert. He has grandchildren Dalan and Ella Haines of Orem. A funeral will be held Saturday July 29,2006 at 1 p.m., Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main, Tooele, Utah. Friends may call for a viewing from 11:30-12:30 prior to the funeral. Burial is immediately following at the Tooele Cemetery, 361 S. 300 E., Tooele, exit is 99 on I-80. The family would like to thank the staff at the Veterans Hospital for his care over all the years.
