Gary L. Hewett 1945 � 1968 Gary Hewett, 23, Tooele, was killed July 19, 1968 when his truck, loaded with watermelons, crashed along Interstate 82, about 22 miles south of Dillon, Montana. The truck was northbound. A wrecker was used to remove his body from the mangled cab of the truck. Gary Hewett was born April 23, 1945, in Tooele, to James C. and Leona Gillespie Hewett. He was married and later divorced. He attended Tooele schools and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by Lindsey Trucking Company at the time of his death. Survivors include a daughter, of Grantsville; his mother, of Tooele; a brother, Ronald of Lake View; two half sisters, Karen Ann Dillard, Tooele, and Sharon Hewett, address unknown; and a half brother, Arnold Hewett, Seattle, Washington. Services were held in the Tooele Fourth-Eleventh- Thirteenth Ward Chapel with interment in Tooele City Cemetery.
